Hanna: (through the door) Caleb, can you hand me my mascara?
Caleb: I’m in the shower!
Hanna: (sticks her head inside) Can I just come in and grab it?
Caleb: Sure.
(Hanna walks in)
Caleb: You know, if you guys clean this shower head, you could have amazing pressure.
Hanna: (looking for her mascara) Go for it.
Ashley Marin: (approaching washroom) Hanna? Is my phone in your bathroom?
Hanna: Uhh-I-I’m in the shower, mom!
(Ashley steps inside, Hanna jumps into the shower. Surprised, Caleb turns to her and Hanna puts a hand over his mouth)
Ashley: I was halfway to the bank when I realized I realized I didn’t have it. (looks at phone and wiggles charger) What is with this charger? I only have three bars…
Hanna: I-I really can’t talk mom, I’m getting shampoo in my mouth!
Ashley: Okay. All right, see you at dinner. (Leaves bathroom)
(Hanna sighs and removes hand from Caleb’s mouth. He turns his back to her, while Hanna checks him out. Turning back, he catches her)
Caleb: (smirks) You wanna share a towel, too?

(Ashley Marin opens the door)
Caleb: (smiles) Hello!
Hanna: Caleb! Wow.
Caleb: Hello, Mrs. Marin. Hanna thought it was about time you and me met.
Hanna: I did?
(Caleb gives her a look)
Hanna: I did! Uh, mom, this is Caleb.
(Caleb steps inside)
Caleb: Rivers.
Ashley: Nice to meet you, Caleb.
(Caleb looks around)
Caleb: Mrs. Marin, you have a lovely home, from what I’ve seen of it.
Hanna: Caleb is new to Rosewood this year.
Caleb: They brought me in to class the place up.
Ashley: I see. (turns to Hanna) Hanna, can I talk to you for a second?
(Ashley and Hanna walk together into the kitchen, leaving Caleb by the front door)
Ashley: Is he… some sort of rebound from Sean?
Hanna: What?! No.
Ashley: I-I don’t want you alone with him in the house. Go out. If you’re gonna study, go to the library.
Hanna: You let me study here with Sean.
Ashley: I knew Sean. Sean was the minister’s son, Sean called you ‘Hanna Banana!’
(doorbell rings)
Caleb: I’ll get that for you.
(Hanna smiles, Ashley looks shocked)

Caleb: Hello.
James Leland: Hi. I’m looking for Mrs. Marin.
Caleb: Come on in.
(James Leland steps inside.)
Caleb: She’s, uh, in the kitchen with Hanna.
James: Hanna…?
Caleb: Her daughter.
James: (nods) Are you her son?
Caleb: No. I’m just the guy who opens the door.
(Hanna and Ashley return)
Ashley: Mr. Leland. This is my daughter Hanna.
Hanna: Hello.
James: Hello, Hanna.
Ashley: Oh, I forgot to get your signature on this. (grabs folder of papers) It’s just part of authorizing you to look at the safe deposit box.
James: Sure. (pulls out pen, signs the paper)
(Caleb eyes his pen as he signs. Ashley puts the folder away)
Ashley: Okay. (To Hanna) I won’t be late.
Hanna: Okay.
(Caleb closes the door behind James and Ashley)
Hanna: What are you doing coming to the front door like that?!
Caleb: I thought it was a better way for your mom to meet me than tripping over me behind the furnace.
Hanna: Yeah, but just knocking on the door? I mean, why couldn’t you have asked me?
Caleb: You would’ve said no.
Hanna: Well, my mom thinks you’re trouble.
(They walk together into the kitchen)
Caleb: And you don’t like her new boyfriend.
Hanna: He’s not her boyfriend; he’s a customer at the bank. Some architect from Syracuse.
Caleb: Really?
Hanna: What do you mean ‘really?’
Caleb: Well, he had a crappy plastic pen.
Hanna: So?
Caleb: So, architects draw for a living. They tend to be pen snobs. Strictly Mont Blanc and beyond. Well, why does he creep you out?
Hanna: He doesn’t creep me out.
Caleb: Yes, he does. You get a bad vibe from the guy.
Hanna: It’s complicated.
Caleb: Tell me. I like complicated.
